Scentsy Selling Tip: Three Way to Communicate More Effectively With Your Customers
I want to talk about communicating more effectively with your customers, because they are the heart of Scentsy. I want you to ask yourself these questions...How often do I tell my customers about Scentsy promotions? Have I asked my customers how they would like to be contacted? (example phone call, text message, email, etc.) When my customers have a question, do I get back to them in a timely manner? When my customers order, do I give them updates throughout the order process?
Communication is a big part of our businesses and effective communication can be the difference between a one time customer and a lifelong customer. I heard a quote once from Tom Peters that said, "Always under promise and over deliver." It's very important to give your customers realistic expectations of what they can expect from you and from Scentsy.
Here are three ways to effectively communicate with your customers:
Set business hours. If your customers know your business hours they will know when to expect responses from you regarding orders, questions, etc.
Set specific days for delivery. In the past we have talked about being productive with our time. If we rush out and deliver orders as soon as they arrive, are we being as productive with our time and resources as we could be if we delivered all products on a certain day?
Give your customer a time frame of deliveries. Life happens and it's a lot easier to tell a customer that you'll deliver their order between 1-2 p.m. instead of 1 p.m. sharp and arrive 20 minutes late. This gives you some extra time if something comes up, like traffic etc.
When you communicate clearly and then show your customers that your actions follow what you tell them, a trust and bond will form that will create customers and friendships that last a very long time.
